HISTORIC FARM, MUSEUM-QUALITY ANTIQUES & FURNISHINGS AT AUCTION

  • West Virginia Fairgrounds, West Virginia Building 947 Maplewood Avenue Lewisburg, WV 24901 (map)

A piece of American history — a gateway into the history and rural culture of our nation’s earliest years — will be up for auction in December as a long-time Monroe County, W.Va., landmark becomes available for a new generation of ownership.

Greenway’s Real Estate and Auction Company, based in Covington, Va., has been selected to conduct the real estate and personal property auction for the Living Estate of Page Dickson, which will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 3, 4 and 5, in the West Virginia Building at the West Virginia Fairgrounds in Fairlea, W.Va.

BEAUTIFUL, PRISTINE REAL ESTATE

TRACT 1: Included in Tract 1 is 6.02 +/- acres which fronts Second Creek and Second Creek Road. Up to 3 residences — at an aggregate total of 4,800 square feet — can be constructed on this tract, at a height no taller than 25 feet.

TRACT 2: Tract 2 includes 397.83 acres and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This tract includes the main house (see Page 2 for a complete description); two outbuildings; a two-car, two story garage and a small barn. The home and buildings are visible from Route 219 but are sheltered by beautiful trees that provide a great deal of privacy. Other farm structures are located on this tract as well. Up to 2% of the total acreage can be used to construct farm buildings and road improvements only. The construction of a new residence is not allowed. This tract lies on both sides of Route 219.

TRACT 4: This tract includes 185.76 acres and has frontage on Second Creek and features a historic cabin, open pastures and the largest natural, unrestrictive, high-capacity free-flowing spring in the region. The tract cannot be subdivided and structures built on the property must be at least 100 feet from any stream or spring and can be no taller than 25 feet. No commercial structures are allowed on this tract.
